Alex and Anna's wedding in Raleigh was beautiful beyond words, much like their love for God and one another! I mentioned in their engagement session post that they were getting married at their childhood church, and goodness, that made it so special! A few years ago, when the church was built, the members wrote Scripture verses on the floor before laying down the carpet. Anna wrote a verse for her future husband on the floor at the top of the aisle - the very same spot she walked over as she went down the aisle to her groom, Alex, on the day of the wedding!
I seriously teared up SO many times that day!! Here are some of the moments that had me melting:
- Anna's mom and dad surprised her with a scroll attached to her bouquet with the Scripture verse she had written on the aisle right before the ceremony!
- Alex and Anna had a tender moment before the ceremony where they couldn’t see one another, but held hands around the corner and exchanged letters. Alex teared up, and of course, I did too!
- Alex is one of three boys, and he had the sweetest moment with his mom right before the ceremony. She had written him a letter, and they had a private moment where he read the letter with his mom's arm linked onto him with a look of pride and joy on her face. It made me so emotional since we have three boys as well, and it made me flash forward to our future moments like that with them!
- They weren't sure if Alex's grandpa was going to be able to make it to the wedding because he was in rehab for weeks before the wedding. After working as hard as he could to practice the exact number of steps he'd have to take down his aisle to his seat, they released him from therapy right before the wedding. It was so special not only to witness him giving Alex a family pocket watch outside as he arrived before the ceremony, but also to see the emotional reaction of their family as he walked into the church! He made it down the aisle, and as he walked out of the church following the ceremony, he gave the cutest thumbs up to his family (see below)! He was even out on the dance floor for a bit, which was pretty incredible!
In addition to all of the beautiful, sentimental moments, it was an absolutely gorgeous wedding! The church was lovely with the big white pillars and steeple, the flowers were classy, and the blue bridesmaid dresses made me reminisce on our own wedding day! In my opinion, the most beautiful details of the day were found at Prestonwood Country Club. The ballroom looked like something out of a fairy tale with the huge crystal chandeliers, the dramatic staircase, and the gorgeous, towering floral centerpieces! We couldn't get enough of how classy and elegant everything was!
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Stone!
